All Creatures of Our God and King

Hello everyperson,

This week was good.  We fasted for Guillermo and Tina to be able to come to church.  Guillermo got fired from his job that makes him work on sundays.  Not exactly what we were expecting but I won't question it.  Haven't talked to Tina yet but she liked the relief society activity.  This week we sang Called to Serve at 3 different church functions.  A court of honor, a stake-wide relief society activity, and sunday's relief society meeting.  Actually for two of those I was playing the piano.  I guess they liked it since they made us do it three times.  Also, don't worry about me getting fed.  We are super spoiled by the members in this ward.  And if we get sick of member food, we cook.  We've pretty much got pupusas down to a science.  There's also jamba juice across the street from where we live, which is quite advantageous.  Interviews with president are coming up :)  That man is amazing.  Because he's not feeling up to traveling, we'll be going to his house in plantation.  Got some pictures of Florida critters for you :)  So you get the scale on these things, that is a small palm tree that the grasshoppers are on.  They're about as long as my middle finger.  And the frog under the bush is a little bigger than my fist.  I don't know if you knew this, but Florida is made of coral.  So basically a few feet underground there's a giant florida shaped block of coral limestone.  I don't know why, but I have an urge to find a small piece and mail it to you so you can see what Florida is made out of.  Just an idea.  Anyway, that's what the canals are dug out of and the reason that no buildings here have basements.  There are a lot of canals.  This place used to be a swamp.  Very good drainage.  Hmm...what else.  I'm going downtown on Tuesday for an exchange.  Have a great week!

¡Una Sorpresa!

It was great to talk to you yesterday.  One thing I forgot to mention, the groundbreaking for the South Florida Temple is Saturday, June 18 at 10:00 AM Eastern Time.  You are invited to join us by internet.  I'll probably be watching it from a chapel somewhere.  So, to clear up any confusion as to where I am, if you take a look at Key Biscayne and go directly West into South Miami, that's my zone.  Last wednesday the whole mission went to transfer meeting regardless of whether we were moving or not.  I wasn't very anxious about anything because I knew that I would be staying in my area with Elder Kennington, he would keep being the district leader and our whole district would stay the same.  Sorpresa! While we did stay in our area and in our same companionship, they changed the zone boundaries and called us as zone leaders, which was just about the last thing I expected to happen.  The instructions in the packet I received encouraged me to review the direction I received when I was first called as a senior companion.  I don't have those.  Well, we do the best we can with what we have to work with.  Haha the primary president is here in the library.  Sister Sy, she's from the Phillipines.  I thought of something else that you might think is cool about Florida.  There are these bushes with big red berries on them that can only described as "CHERY!!!" in a loud cuban accent.  They aren't cherries, but they taste like them and they're everywhere and we'll munch on them as we walk around.  They're no good anymore but a couple of weeks ago they were delicious.  Picture time.  This should be a big tree and a peacock and a picture of my area taken from the top of a parking garage at the big hospital.  I hope everyone is well.  Don't worry, be happy.
